i bought a new lancer gts and when i turn on the a/c i can hear a clanking sound inside the cabin?
anyone else experience this? what could it be?

You hear a clanking inside the cabin or you can hear a clanking when you're in the cabin coming form under the hood?

 

When I first bought the car the A/C wouldn't make that noise. Now it does sometimes. If I use my A/C frequently I don' get that noise. However if it's been say 3-4 days that I haven't turned it on it will click. I think its normal since I've herd it on other cars.

 

the clancking noise comes from inside the dash i can only hear it when the a/c is turned on if i turn it off in an instant it stops doing the noise

 

Oh I actually thought the clicking would only occur once when it would start up. That's weird.

 

if you could make a video of it i would be interested in hearing it, maybe someone else might have the same issue. I dont think i have that issue. I personally just dont like the fact that it turns it self on when you play with the controls and the AC is not on auto.

sometimes i turn a dial and its on and i end up driving for miles with my A/C on, in the winter.

its like plastic hitting plastic it must be the a/c fan inside the dash

 

AC usually turns on in winter. It reduces moisture in the car and helps with the defrost. Now if you have your car set at a high temperature and it is blowing cold air out then you might have a problem./

 

yea same thing with me first time i put full blast defrost it put the AC on :P figures if i disabled the automatic and put the settings to manual it would stop but it still does it ... sometimes this car is too inteligent for its own good. :P
