Lancer 2008 A/C problem

Recently, while driving my car on the freeway, i decided to turn on the AC. As it got cool enough, i switched to turn it off. Normally, it turns off... but this time it didnt. And it has not turned off for the past 5 hours unless i turn off the car.

Has anyone else had this problem or know a way of solving it?

i am guessing the light is on and pressing the button does nothing?! if so a trip to the dealer and some wiring/switches/or relays need to be replaced or fixed. Try that! Good luck.

mainly, the control of adjusting the speed of the A/C doesnt work. Although i do have the navigation, and it does show that i am setting different speed levels on the screen as i turn the knob, it seems like the A/C does not listen and just stays on full blast.... even in the off position.

Temperature, and controling the direction of the AC seems to work just fine though, even the inside air button works, and the AC button does turn on and off when i press it. Just the knob for adjusting wind power has no effect except showing little green bars on the navigation...

its you blower motor then that is staying on full blast. Make sure it no on auto?! I am sure you have done that much.

I dont have the NAV (canada) damn canada :P

So I don't know how it differs but i think you may be off to a dealership trip for that, the way it sounds....videos help a lot when trying to diagnose this stuff online. See if you can take one.

One thing to keep in mind is if you have the temperature dial set at the minimum setting or the maximum setting, it is a special meaning for "Max Cool" and "Max Heat" respectively. Max cool will always have the A/C turned on and the fan at max (unless the A/C is not set for "Auto" mode which is set by holding down the A/C button for about 10 seconds, as described in the manual).

Otherwise, a dealer trip might be necessary

I just press my a/c button whether on auto or not and it will come off/on (Canadian version)
