Question blower motor problems?

Hi, I'm new to the forum. I just bought an 08 GTS a few months ago. Since i purchased the car I have noticed an annoying squeal from what I am almost sure is the blower motor. (Sound stops when I turn the heat/AC off) Has anyone else had this problem?

I searched and found nothing about it and I was hoping to gather some info before just diving into this. Oh and if it helps, it seems to make more noice when the fan speed knob is turned to the "AUTO" position.

Has been happening to mine ever since the ac drain hole got plugged. I assume there is not enough grease in a bearing somewhere, haven't had a chance to pull it apart to check things out.

Try not using the auto setting. Does the sound increase when you turn it to high speed vs. low? You can also remove the glovebox and the filter, then you can see the fan from there. Try turning it off and on while inspecting it from the cabin air filter opening. If it is making noise then chances are that the bearing in the motor has failed.
