Call and let them know! The Outlander and EVO are being recalled for this very problem.

I't a common problem with the Lancers. Clogged drain tube from debris collecting outside near the wipers. They sent out a service release to the dealerships regarding this problem.

Work at Dealer, we see evaporator drain tubes get easily cloged from debris. blow out the drain tube on the bottom of the vehicle and keep the front cowl under the wipers clean and free of debris

I have had to take my OZ in for this problem twice in the last 3 months. This is not just a freak occurance, they are use to this problem. It only takes them about 20 min to fix, but it is a majior inconvienance for us. The dealer told me that it might be due to spiders getting in there. Just another reason not to go out and get an evo. Mitsubishi?

i'm sick of driving around without my AC. I'm avoiding the use so i don't get pools of water, but being a delivery guy in florida, i kinda need that air conditioning on hot days. I'm gonna try and tackle this today, i already pulled the insulation from my carpet to dry it out, the carpet is just gonna get steamed or something. i'm thinking the drain plug is accessed from the outside, but i could be wrong. if i find it i'll be sure to take lots of pics to help you guys out as well, but i don't know exactly what i'm doing, so any help and a picture would be very helpful.

It is best to get at it from above I believe. Open the hood of your lancer, and take out the air filter and then got a pipe cleaner or something (I had to hold it with some pliers cause my arms are fat) and reach down in there (when the engine is cool) and shove the pipe cleaner (i used a ziptie actually) up that tube a good 6 inches (maybe more). This is a pic or 2 of the rough area to clean:

I hope this helps someone out, I wish someone had given me the general area atleast before I took some of the dash apart.
