navigation random?

So, I had something kind of weird happen to me today and wanted to see what you guys thought.

I set a route to a radio station in Seattle on my Nav today. I got close to the end of the route and parked because I found the building. Therefore, I didnt finish the route or end/delete it.

I drove back up to work in and home a few hours later. Then I went to my moms for dinner. After dinner at my moms I started my car and the Navigation started up again as if I had just put the original route from earlier in the day in.

My question is why would it only re-start the route a few hours later after about the 3rd or so trip...and not the 1st time I started up the car after the trip?

Any ideas? I'm really hoping my Nav system isnt just gonna start putting its own routes haha

I'm assuming it was my fault for not deleting the route, but found it weird that it only restarted that route a few trips later and not on the first trip after.

Any insight would be appreciated.....sorry for the rambling

The navigation actually requires you to arrive at your destination before it delete itself. Therefore, you should test it agian. Set a route and then shut off the car. Restart car and see if the route is still there. Then, delete the route, restart the car, the directions should be gone. The destination must be reached before it DELETES itself! If not, it will always be set there unless you delete it manually.
Correct me if I'm wrong.

yeah I am assuming that your explanation is correct. I am just wondering why it didnt try to tell me to do the route again the very next time i drove my car. Instead it was like the 4th or 5th time after I had driven my car that it randomly came back on telling me to follow that route....the other times the NAV did not prompt me at all.

Do you have that annoying voice on to tell you where to go??? lol I took that off like the day I got the car, and from time to time i forget to delete the route so it stays there until I do. Lots of times if you don't come close to the GPS coordinates that it thinks the destination is, it will not complete the route. Just keep an eye out for it, if it persists, thats what the dealer is for. Should be an easy enough fix for them.

The route guidance does NOT start until you hit the "I Agree" button on the disclaimer. Note that the disclaimer won't show until you try to execute a navigation function (i.e. you can use all the Audio controls, but the first time you press "Navi" each trip it asks you to agree). So I bet those first few trips you simply didn't agree to the disclaimer. Then maybe the next trip, out of habit you did then finally realized it was still in guidance.

Also the route voice guidance suspends itself when set "Display Off" under "SET" -- why this is, I have no idea... kinda annoying when all you want is voice guidance without the screen blinding you.

Ah. I bet this explains what happened. Thanks a lot!
