Oh no! I'm disappoined in mitsubishi

I do not know if it is my fault or mitsu, but my electric gas meter on my LANCER GTS has been broken. It always says my gas tank is full.

I am the retard who believed that his gas milage has greatly improved but it hasn't. I drove until my whole tank was empty and had no clue. Luckily i was near my house and i figured out the problem.

I wonder if there is a fix for this problem. i filled up my gas tank and it was normal again. thank god i was near my house =( then again. i should have noticed.

Take your car to the dealership and let them look at it.

Don't be disappointed in - things break. That's why every new car comes with a warranty.

I check my "Distance Till Empty" or DTE as well as keeping an eye on the actual meter, I wonder if both failed on you?

Probably something as simple as a wiring fault or sensor failure. At worst the dash display has a malfunction. All covered in the B2B warranty so shouldn't be a problem, or hard to fix if they aren't complete morons.

Could be the meter next to the fuel pump got stuck in the full position when you filled up. And when you filled up again it just knocked it free.

This problem should be added to the known problems list for 2008s. Mitsubishi knows about this, and has issued a TSB on this matter.

No. TSB-07-13-009
DATE: November, 2007
MODEL: 2008 Lancer

On a small number of affected vehicles, the fuel level float arm may contact a vapor hose inside the fuel tank causing the arm to stick in the full position regardless of the amount of fuel in the tank. The customer will complain that the MIL is illuminated. They may also complain that the fuel gauge does not change in relation to the number of miles driven. This TSB provides instructions to install a modified fuel level float arm assembly.

AFFECTED VEHICLES

2008 Lancer built prior to September 17, 2007.

Hope this helps! I have access to all TSB's and Recalls for any vehicle using my shops computer, so this is a real number. Show your dealer this!
