My check engine light soon has come on twice both when my gas gauge was near empty. I made sure my gas tank cap was tight and it still wouldn't turn off. After a day or so it went out and now a month later it came on again. The car runs fine, what might it be. Anything simple or do I have to take it to Mitsubishi? I have had it re-flashed so I am not anxious to bring it to my dealer.

you need to find out what code it is b4 bringing it to the dealer.

 

Buy a cheap code reader, sells for around $100. Well worth it, most shops charge 50-70 dollars just to read what code is stored in your computer.

 

Take it to Autozone and get the code read off for free.

 

it amazes me how many people dont know about this

 

I dont know if you can do this anymore, where i am from they made it a law that they cannot read codes for you because of some stupid reason.
