Service Engine...........

I was driving and when I parked my car and started it again my "Service Engine Soon" light came on and stayed on. I checked the gas cap and it was tight, I am not sure what else could be wrong. Everything seems to be running fine. The only thing I have noticed lately is that when I sowly let off the clutch there is a low humming sound. Anyone have any ideas????? thanks!

Get the service codes pulled with a OBD-II scantool. We can speculate about what might be wrong, but it's always better to be sure.

i would just take it in. on my last car, a vw, that damn light was always going on, for nothing. but i just took it in and they fixed it. you dont have to really start worrying though until it starts to blink, at least thats how my vw was. they told me just drive it normal until i could get it in there, and if it started blinking they would come and get it. i lived 75 miles from the dealer so it was kind of a biotch to drive it in there for nothing, over and over. good luck.

This is the one I use:

http://www.scantool.net/products/elmscan_iso.htm

It's not the prettiest thing in the world, but it's certainly cheap and shipping is free.

If you don't want to actually buy one, you can probably find a place that will pull the codes for free. Autozone will, I believe. There are sure to be others.

EDIT: one way or another, you should get the codes pulled.
