So I got this "Fixed" when I had about 110k on my lancer. I'm at 155k now and it's back again, along with a few others. Any ideas?

Will they do it with a 2 1/4 cat back with a magna flow muffler? Just wondering if I need to swap my exhaust for a day with someone so they'll do this

Hey i know this is a little old but i have a question. I took my car in for the p0421 they said it's covered so i get a free Cat and stuff but i got a call back the next day and was told the o2 sensor seems seized inside the cat, but it seems to be aftermarket.

They told me if its OEM they'll replace it too for free, but if its Aftermarket the OEM sensor $311 . I will know tomorrow.

As far as i know it should be OEM but if the owner before me changed it is it possible for me to find a cheaper one, and have them install it? Would i just get charged flat fee of labor?

I got the car today. They called me and told me I had an aftermarket o2 so i would need to pay for the $311 one. I told them I bought one my self so then they told me i needed to pay a restocking fee for the $311 one they ordered.

It was 60 bucks I complained that i didn't even order it, they told me it was needed and ordered already, i asked to speak to supervisor and he wasn't in. So i sucked it up and went ready to pay the fee. But when i got there I was told they waived the fee. So it was all free.

Under 100k and its free i was told. Word. Fix my fan control thing too.

Ya dont let them push you around bro, good deal they didnt charge you dealerships will get whatever they can outta you I have delt with them enough to know. If it was something legit you know they would not have waived the fee for sure. So they gave you another oem 02 or you had to put one in? I bought my car for only $700 and still got that all replaced free. Not bad considering the dealership would have easily charged $1000 for the work and parts if not under warranty.

Exclamation

had the same issue. went to dealer and they said the service/recall was already performed and extended to 100k miles. i just picked that code up at about 115k, so they said i was outta coverage. the dealer said the cat and possibly 02 sensor has to be replaced but start with a cat first. No problem, i can install and pick one up at a fairly good price. But the concern is we have 2 02 sensors and 2 cats. 1 oxy sensor after exhaust mani, then first cat. After some piping etc another 02 sensor then the final cat leading to resonator/muffler. Which cat should i replace(dumb question). My obvious guess the 2nd 02 sensor is picking up a bad reading from the first cat, but im not sure which to replace. money is somewhat an option so both is outta my question. My State INSpection expires at the end of april, TY NY STATE! . So i kinda have a couple weeks with this darn code popping up on and off as an issue for failing me and forcing me to replace at my job which would be more pricey then im shooting for.

Lamens terms which of the 2 cats should i attempt and replace...has anyone else solved this issue themselves, and if so which cat and or oxy sensor did you replace...

I have a walker exhaust catalog book at my job which shows a visual description of what it all looks like if i need to post.

Thanks very much for all help, and participation to this issue and my problem!
