Thumbs down A/C issues

Anybody noticed their A/C acting like it’s huffing and puffing with no smooth airflow? –I know I’m tired of it acting up this way…

Nope, I have 22K miles on mine, and I've used the AC almost everyday this summer cuz of the damn humidity. Still freezin my *** off

If it has problems, you should bring it to the dealer, its all under warranty.

Nope my A/C doesn't huff or puff at all.

The only thing that I don't like is when I have my fan turned to off but set to pull air from the outside, too much air flow still comes in the car. That's easily remedied by switching to recycle the air from inside but it's still annoying.

sorry but what do you mean by your a/c huff's 'n' puff's?!?

If you have auto climate control it will vary fan speed and such to regulate temp. other than that, please explain a little more precisely.

has anyone noticed when your AC is on, it seems like the engine starts to struggle at high speeds? or when trying to accelerate?

Yeah...the AC definitely takes some power away from the acceleration

That's normal in any car. Even if you had an evo, you would feel the difference with the ac on or off. That difference just wouldn't be as much.

I don't feel a difference
This thread is amusing though. An AC compressor is powered by a belt via your engine. Naturally when you engage it it will take power away and obviously when you have your air vents set to "fresh-air" (not recir) then air will continue to travel through the vents when the fans are off. This is auto 101 stuff.

No mine works fine.

Except one time, I turned the AC on and the compressor engaged very hard and aggressively resulting in a jerky motion and a noise. I don't know why that happened.
Any Ideas?

I know in my last car the ac actual broke cuz I didn't use it that much. I think my dad said something about not using it causes something to go wrong with the clutch or something like that. I always leave mine in the auto position just to let it do its thing and exercise size all the moving components.

The clutch on the AC compressor seizes if you don't use it.

Take it to the dealer! it's covered under warranty.

And yes you "lose" hp when you turn the AC on because the compressor is belt driven.
