Car running a little rich (I think)

I installed my RRM Piggyback and headers yesterday and everythings been running good so far. However, I think I've been running a little too rich (to the point where I smell gas in my garage). Now, here are two things that could be the problem IMO.

1) I accidentally installed the CEL adaptor in the wrong O2 sensor port, but I will have it corrected.

2) While installing the piggyback, I accidentally snipped the Red/Yellow wire at the 47th plug thingy (It should be the 47th I think, I can't remember). In any case, I ended up using a couple inches worth of excess wire from the piggyback to link the snipped wire back together.

Will fixing these correct the mixture? Is this the mixture that the piggyback is programed for? Whats your opinion?

(I would call RRM, but I don't have time cause I'm headed for work, and at least I could check back later on tonight. Thanks!)

Have you waited for the learning period on the piggyback to be over? Are you running catless?

Yeah, I waited half about a total of 25 minutes. When do I know when the learning period is over?

No, I still have my stock cat on.

Well if you are using the CEL eliminator it of course will fool the computer into thinking you are not running right and run it rich. The Computer is not sensing the o2 and it of course is not heated up to tell the computer so if you are running rich you are gonna smell gas out of the exhaust

---Edit---

Without the o2 your computer cannot tell if its running rich or lean. If the piggyback is not installed correctly to fix these mixtures than i'm pretty sure it will run more rich than lean. If its running lean you got nothing to worry about.

Move the CEL eliminator to the right O2 sensor and see if that helps. If the car is running lean, you have a lot to worry about since lean conditions kill engines.

I'm moving the o2 Sensor later on tonight and see if it works (It should word, I hope). If that doesn't work, I'm having my co-worker (a former electrician) sodern my wires together.

But yeah, its running way too rich (in my opinion). I left for work with half a tank of gas (keep in mind that I drove it casually, roughly driving steady around 2000-2500 RPMs on the freeway for about 15 minutes each way). By the time I got home, I'm dipping below a quarter of a tank. Usually it takes two days before it dips down from half to a quarter.

Alrighty, I think I took care of the problem. I haven't refueled yet so I won't know till after I come back from work. I removed the CEL adaptor, but haven't installed it into the second cat yet. (I'll install it when I have the time, and most likely: money.) I had to take off my headers to get to it, but instead of taking it to a shop like I did when I installed it, I did it myself. I may not have noticed it before, but there seems to be a vibration in the headers whenever I accelerate or rev. Is the vibration natural or did I ef' up the header re-installation?? (Just to give you an example of how this sounds like, think of a bike with a crushed can wedged between the frame and the wheel. It has that raspy vibration to it.)

Also, how do I know if my engines mis-firing?

I'm sorry but some of you guys just don't have a clue. The UPSTREAM 02 controls the air/fuel mixture and putting a MIL eliminator, spacer, etc. on there will mess up your mixture big time. This is what is happening with your car. The DOWNSTREAM 02 sensor has NOTHING to do with fuel control. Instead, it has just one function: to monitor catalyst efficiency. If you don't know what you're doing and you try to modify your car's fuel control system, you're taking a big risk. By running your car this way chances are you at least partially clogged your catalytic converter.

Actually most people do have a clue since most people suggested moving the O2 spacer.

If you removed the headers without changing the gasket than you messed it up and there could be exhaust leak now. Every time you remove the exhaust manifold you must replace the gasket.

I was aware that the adaptor was in the wrong spot. I ended up getting the headers professionally installed because the 'bolt from hell' was seized and it would only take an extra $20 to have them install the headers for me. Unfortunately, instead of the second cat, they installed it into the o2 sensor on exhaust manifold.

I already fixed the problem. I took out the adaptor and now I'm running efficiently. The vibration came from the gasket, which actually chalked up, became brittle, and tore in two. I ended up going to autozone, bought a new one, and installed it on the same day. I had my connections on the piggyback soderned so everything is running smoothly.

Although, I kinda liked it running rich. My acceleration was (IMO) a bit better when it was
