does this look like an exhaust leak to you

Hey guys, I've been hearing a flapping sound when I've been accelerating and I originally thought that it was bad lifters however I was under the car the other day and I noticed a crack in my downpipe. I had the exhaust checked out before and I was told there wasn't a leak however this looks like it's not normal to me. Anybody else see a problem here? I'm hoping that this is the source of the flapping sound cuz this seems like a simple fix. Any help would be appreciated.

Sorry for the crappy pics.

No. That is just the heat shield that covers your downpipe.

You could start the car and feel if air is coming out.

That's the heatshield... Notice the clamp that holds it together

Did you make sure it was air where the exhaust bolts up? It could've been air coming from your ac/shroud fans. Try looking at the downpipe and have someone rev the engine.

thanks guys, i'll give revving a shot tomorrow. I was hoping that it was an exhaust leak because I'm thinking that's an easier fix than doing the lifters. This noise is annoying the hell out of me
