What's wrong with the engine??

It takes a really long time, much more than normal ,for my rpm to come down from 3 or 4k to normal idle rpm. It does not happen all the time. Im taking my gts to the dealer on Wednesday, but I just wanted to see if any one of you know what the problem is or if anyone had this problem.

How long have you owned your vehicle? If it is under 15000kms then the engine is still in the learning process and the high revs once you come to a stop are supposed to clean out the cat of any extra hydrocarbons that may have accumulated due to high speed driving (highway) or moderate to heavy acceleration. This is so mitsubishi can conform the the tight regulations for emissions. This is normal. You will either notice it to decrease after 15000kms or just accept it into the cars function. For me I don't know whether it has decreased or I just got used to it.

I bought it 2 months ago, used at 50000 km,I haven't had any problems like what some people mentioned on the other thread, but I revved it once and it seemed odd tome that it does this since i have never seen this happen before on any other car.
