Question weird revving??

is it normal for the rev to jump when i shift up? i mean when i shift from 1st to 2nd around 2500rpm, i press in the clutch then shift to 2nd gear but instead of the rpm dropping as soon as the clutch is engaged, it jumps to 3000rpm then drop... i know its not because of my gas pedal because i let it go completely and other cars ive driven isnt like this... just wanted to see if its my car or something... btw my car is still new around 400km only

It could very well be ur gas pedal. Ur not supposed to keep it pressed at all as u change gears.

Or it may be an emissions related software setting, that prevents unburnt fuel to be released in the atmosphere...my 2 cents

when you push in your clutch an algorithm runs in your ECU so that your RPMS stay high or jump a bit. It is normal as long as it jumps either a couple hundred or stays the same rpm for a second.

IIRC (dont really remember) but I think it is when you drive it a bit harder if you close the throttle right away you can burn out your catalytic converter so it manages the transition a bit smoother to increase the life of the cat and better on emissions. The other thing the Mitsu engineers might have done was to put in an idle increase algorithm so that your Rpms dont drop when your transitioning between gears
