prior to testing... unplug the battery's negative terminal. wait atleast 15-30 minutes. that will reset the ECU, therefore the CEL also

make sure the car is warmed up and in operating temperature when they check it. that way the warm up cat does not need to work. (which is what your recall is)

A autozone may reset it for you, or anyone with a scantool will.

If you fail you still have to pay, and have a month or so to get it fixed , and you can take it back to the same place for a recheck for free usually ...

be careful , if your required to have ready statuses on all systems in order to pass, once you reset the CEL you reset the ready codes.

^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ + 100 you failed

Ready status must be set before you will pass, it takes several cycles of starting, warming up and running right before it sets.

I had the same problem with the cat and i took it to mitsubishi service dept and they did the pcm re-flash and fixed the cat for free. Take it in as soon as possible cause it took a least a day for them to fix it.

What code do you have?

I had the same problem. They claimed to fix it, they did mine at 108k miles. The problem came right back after 100 miles. I gave up and have since decided just to put aftermarket exhaust on it. As for you, your screwed. Just an idea. Would one or 2 of those Cel eliminator things you put in place between the exhaust and the o2 sensor help any?

for a few days and hope the light doesn't come on. Like I said

"Ready status must be set before you will pass, it takes several cycles of starting, warming up and running right before it sets."
