when it gets nicer out, ill try taking mine apart to see if i can find anything. but i have coilovers in and i have the damper set pretty stiff. its been a while since the ac has made any noise so i cant say if it was from the bumps.

Its busted bearings in the fan itself. The best option is to buy new ones. Ive got a mishimoto fans now and no problem.

it could also be that the drain is plugged up and water is collecting...so when you turn left it splashes out and hits your fan. if its a constant grinding noise, then i agree with M@verick.

Any update on this? I'm at 111,500km, I only noticed it shortly after 100K km (warranty over) This is on an '09 Lancer.

I took out the blower motor, and turned it on, seemed fine. Put it back, noise!

Took it out again, shook it while it was spinning, no noise, put it back... noise!

I was planning to buy a new blower motor... but after doing this, I dunno what to do anymore.

Blower noise

Had the same noise, took mine apart and found a bunch of pine needles in the "fan", inside the housing.. Take it apart and clean it out, the back screw is not easy to get too, good luck

I have the same problem. I find that if I turn the blower off for a couple seconds the noise will stop. As with the others, if I turn right or hit a bump the noice comes back. It also seems to be affected by speed. The faster I am travelling the less a possibility that I can stop the noise. It does not vary with speed of the car or fan speed. If I come up with a resolution I will share on this forum.
