Any 4 banger needs to wind up off the line to get moving, just the nature of it .

Yeah i dont know what you guys are doing either i have a pure stock 2003 lancer OZ and i drive around a lot in the city and out and i usually get at least 330 per tank which is about 10 gallons before i fill it up. I hope installing a SRI and Axle Back exhaust dont decrease that because i like getting 33 mpg

I have a SRI, test pipe, and a straight back exhaust. My car eats gas like it's the end of the world.

I only have sri and I barely get 280 per tank.. even without any hard driving (which was hard to try!!) On avg with some hard driving some highway, I get about 70-75 miles per tick after I had my sri installed, before sri I was getting 75-80 per tick... so for some reason lancers suck!

Yes intake should improve gas mileage, which it did slightly for me (but my CEL didn't come on either). I'm still trying to figure out why my mileage didn't go up after getting the ecu reflash. Maybe because the test drive right after went up to redline multiple times, it programmed the ecu for much more aggressive driving? I thought it would relearn in 10 min when I drive regularly. I did notice a large improvement on mileage when I got my brake pads to stop rubbing.

That's worse than MY gas mileage. That's sayin' something.

It's probably the MAS malfunctioning in some way, shape or form. There's no other reason aside from damage to the ECU that should cause you to flow that much fuel. Either that or you drive between redline and fuel cut everywhere you go.

I thought that if you get a CEL it automatically throws the ECU into a closed-loop and starts running ultra-rich to protect itself. That is the easiest explanation as to why your mileage is so bad. Hell, stomping around town I get 75 miles at the first tick mark.
