Guys my oz is black. At the top of my door sills above my fender their is white scratches almost like chips. Is this the same stuff you guys are talking about?

 

No, the problem we were having is with the side skirts on the OZ Rally. The paint is chipping off them right under the doors. I have had the driver side of mine repainted three times already. It seems to be a problem with the mold release agent not getting all cleaned off the plastic side skirts before they were painted at the factory. I have run into several other Lancers in east Texas with the same problem.

 

Yeah, I'm having the same chips on the sides under the doors and it's bothering the crap out of me..... is it the crappy paint job or what?? grr.....

 

Crappy paint I believe. I brought this up at the NY Lancer meet and oddly enough nobody there had it happening. I think I remember it happening on Liquid's car, but he wasn't there. It seems pretty common, especially with the Lightning yellow OZ's.

 

it was happening on mine till i got my body kit then the body shop did a good job and now its not chiping :-p only areas missing paint are the bot when i scrape over speed bumps but ya all my dealer would do was give me touch up paint and well now i doubt they will paint it at all since i have had parts added and repainted part of the car or some crap

 

I have a nice sized chip off of my hood .. =/ I'm going to call and ***** today..

 

now i remember posting a exact thread about 3 months ago (running a search is usefull) now what i did was print out all the posts then took them to the dealer...now they still fought that it wasnt the paint and prob was me scuffing it with my shoes (right) but after 2 weeks of *****ing to everyone there and finally reaching the top guy they offered to paint it...but they said that they would have to keep my car for 3-4 days...well...good luck to all you out there

 

I seen someone with the same problem today. Mine is thunder gray and I haven't noticed any problems with my paint yet.
