Angry noise in the rear of the car too!

i have a noise coming from the rear of the car but its nowhere near squeaking. its like somewhat of a clunking sound like you're going over something on the road, but you're really not. it ONLY happens while im acclerating, not when im going over bumps. so say im at a full stop, the light turns green and i go.. its when im accelerating from a full stop till about 10mph that i hear a couple clunking sounds. its not a continuous sound nor is it there everytime.. its just an 'occasional' sound and i only hear it about 1-3 times while im accelerating. i dont think its my perches because i dont hear it while im going over bumps..

SECOND PROBLEM.. i had mitsubishi change my brakes about 1000 miles ago and up to this day, my brake pedal still pulsates when im braking at high speeds.. anyone have this happen to them too?

damn ****ty *** mitsubishi.. i hate them.. and on the side note, not only are they crappy, but they moved their service facilities from 1.5 miles away from me to 35 miles away from me.. whats up with that?!? damn, i might as well just trade in my car for a 350z.. again, any input would be appreciated.. thanks

The brakes pulsating might mean that you're rotors need to be turned, resurfaced. At least, that's my guess. If they weren't properly bedded in, then the rotor surfaces may not be smooth.

The noise is a tough one though - is it every time you go by 10MPH and will it keep going if you keep the speed steadily at 10MPH or will it just happen for a few seconds and stop?

it'll just happen a few times and then stop.. its not constant if i hold a continuous, slow speed.. it just comes and then goes..

i highly doubt its a tool because there's nothing on the surface of my trunk.. and underneath the mat, where the spare tire is, its just my spare and the jack.. nothing else.. so i doubt its something there..

When is the noise in relation to when you shift? Is the weight of the car shifting when it makes the noise? And as for being a whole 35 miles from the service peeps, I'm closer to 60 miles.

the noise is not relevant to when the car shifts.. it just comes when im accelerating from a dead stop and then it disappears.. HOWEVER, i forgot to mention that i dont hear the noises at all when i gun it from a stop.. its only when im acclerating slow when i hear it.. and as for the weight shift, its not due to that.. my cd's shift in my center compartment due to the weight shift, but not this noise im hearing.. and since you drive 60 miles to service, at least it gives me some hope.. its just annoying coz i got used to driving 2 minutes for service.. i guess i jus gotta get used to it..

I just looked at your registry, I have the same problem, Its your exhaust. Only happens once in a while, 1 or 2 quick bangs, thats it.

well in your spare tire compartment, you have that wrench to use with the jack..that could be shifting around..but it sounds like you checked that already..

The hangers aren't stiff enough. It doesn't bother me to much. It doesn't happen with a stock exhaust because its to small. It shouldn't cause any problems.

nah its not my brakes making the noise.. its just that my brake pedal pulsates when i brake at high speeds.. no noise at all.. it was squeaking before, but i changed it before i warped my rotors..

pedal pulsation

when ur brake pedal pulsates when u step on the brakes, it's most likely your rear rotors that are warped. when front rotors warp you'll notice it more in the vibration of your steering wheel. as far as the noise in the back goes, get someone to drive your car while u grope around the back.
