key fob stopped working

hi my key fob stopped working on my 2009 lancer

the light on the key goes on when i am pressing a button but it doesn't lock or unlock my car at all. My other spare key fob works?

Does anyone know what could be wrong or what i can do to get it working again?

the key died, just bring the car back to and they will replace the key under warranty.

I am guessing you have the fast key, if so:

I had the same issue, it would unlock/lock doors by pressing the handle/button on the car, but would not respond to commands pressed on the fob itself. Mitsu spent a while trying to figure it out, and eventually had to replace the fast key module under warranty.

Let me know of what happens to yours!

i had the same issue. i brought my car in a while ago for the recall on the air bag sensors. while it was their i left them both keys and told them the problems. They played with it for a bit, and within a couple of hours called me and told me they were going to replace my key, the power transistor on my hvac fan, and that the recall was done. Only took them a day to do.

i wouldnt think so. if they say nething, the KOS system is totally seperate from the ECU. Your issue is that your key has died, and therfore the KOS can not communicate with the key.

bumping this thread because I have the same problem but it happened to BOTH my keys at the same time. One day my primary key fob just stopped responding when I press the buttons. The fast key still works when I press the button on the door and the car starts up fine. But the buttons just dont work...at first I thought it was the battery but the light does come on when I press the button. So I figured maybe it just became deprogrammed so I went home to grab my spare key fob and it has THE SAME PROBLEM??? How can 2 key fobs get deprogrammed at the same time???? I replaced both batteries too still nothing...this has to be a problem w/ the car right?
