2nd to 3rd gear grind, Out of sync

Anyone know how much it would cost to fix a out of sync m/t. 08 lancer? No warranty, and was grinding before i bought it.

in general tranny work is ~1300. I think its quoted as a 10 hour job just to remove and reinstall the tranny, not including anything else they have to do. if your mechanically savvy, you should def do it urself. you could get it done in a weekend as long as you checked out all the steps needed to pull the tranny.

ouch $1300. ha ha i know nothing when i comes to being mechanical. Would it be cheaper to buy a slightly used good tranny, and have someone put it in.

hard to say. i just know its that much to take it down and out because i have a couple of friends that needed their trannies replaced.

Its one of the retarded things about FWD, you gotta disassemble the entire driver side wheel assembly including drive shafts and sometimes part of the frame in order to get the tranny out.

how is it out of warranty? You drive that much? Or is this your fault?
