clicking noise

I was wondering how many people out there have that infamous "clicking" noise that is made by the lifters. List the rpm levels you hear it at. Mine is from 1800-2900.

I've never noticed it, I guess I'll pay more attention on my way to work this morning. How loud is it?

Try running a search. It's almost definitely your lifters. Mitsubishi engines, especially the 4g9x seem to be notorious for it. It's nothing to be concerned about and the remedy seems to be as simple as warming up your car and gradually stepping on the gas while in neutral and slowly revving to about 3krpms until oil gets in the lifters.

Try what I recommended. (I forgot who first said to try it, but thanks to that person) It has never failed for me. In extreme cold it does take longer to shake the clicking though.

Start the car. Let it idle for a minute. Step on the gas and steady the RPMs are 2k. Let it sit there for 10-20 seconds then do the same to 3k. The clicking should go away after that.
