02 key?

02 key?

Hello, I just got a 02 lancer ES, I tried to get a double made of the master key, they said they didnt have the key instock, but that there might be a "chip" in the key... is there? thanks

Theres no chip in our keys. At least not for the regular lancer. I don't know about the EVO

thnx, good, Im getting remote start, and I heard its like tripple the price if its got the damn chip.... Im truly excited about the car, it drives nice! little small, but i will get usto that!

My '02 ES key is all metal, so I'm 100% sure there is no chip on it. Also, with remote start and the 'chipped' keys you just need to tape the spare near the ignition. Not the safest route, but it's the cheapest.
