Lancer 03 nightmare =(

Lancer 03 nightmare =(

Okay, so just recently my car started to run rough, like a wierd noise when trying to accelerate so I decided to take it to autozone and they did a check engine light test and the guy said that cyclinder 2 is misfiring and i have a bad o2 senor on bank 2?? or something like that where is bank 2 he must mean the downstream one or something like that.??? AND THEN.. bout 2 days later i drive down to the corner store and my car dies... i try to start it up but nothing happens.. i had someone bring me cables and jump my car and it started again..It couldnt be the battery since i had a new one put in couple months ago i pop the hood and see that the alternator belt is ripped in the middle =\.. SO NOW, i have to find out what the misfire is,fix the o2 senor, and put in a new alternator/serpentine belt. Does anyone know any reason why the car would die randomly, could it be any of the three up there? Help asap

EDIT: FIXED THE ALTERNATOR BELT AND IT DRIVES PERFECT, CAR STARTS UP AGAIN NOW
So im guessing thats why the car died in the first place because the rip on the belt wasent letting the alternator charge good enough so the battery was to weak to power all my acessories and my subs and utlimately drain the battery out.

Now time to fix the misfire and o2 sensor and my car should run like new again =D

Could be just as simple as it running out of battery slowly.

The car isn't really tuned to run at voltages under 14 volts. Any change to the voltage means the injectors will fire differently and even though our ECU's have compensation for this sort of thing they aren't meant to run this way all sorts of neat things would happen at extreme voltage lows like missfire, sensor malfunction, running rich/rough.

I suggest getting your serpentine belt fixed up and clearing all the codes and finding out whats really wrong with it if anything.
