Headlight Problem

When I turn my headlights on one bulb comes on brighter than the other, ike the high beam is on. When I switch the stalk to turn on the high beams the bulb that was bright becomes dim and vice versa. I know its not a bulb problem because both bulbs work fine, but not at the same time. I'm thinking some sort of wiring issue, but how do I go about fixing it?

Very strange do you have after market headlights? It could be as simple as someone splicing the high and low beam wires opposite on accident.

Start by checking all of the wires themselves. Wires in cars over a period of time have a tendency to tear and rip the plastic around the wires. They may have a slight ground on them, or a wire could be simply switched out in the wiring itself.
Did it happen all at once, or has it been noticeable over a period of time, just getting worse?
