Gauge Cluster not working
Gauge Cluster not working
Recently my gauge cluster lights stopped working on my 03 Lancer OZ, I just had an aftermarket deck installed , would this have anything to do with them not working. Would there be any other causes for it not working. Any help or advice would be great.
Possible short. I know you most likely already tried this but check your fuses. Also there is a small turn knob or rolling knob by your left knee. Check to see if its plugged it. All of your background dash lights will stop working. Such as the background to your cluster and the light that lights up the a/c knobs and cigarette lighter.
Yeah im checking the fuses tonight after work, I'm hoping thats its as easy as that. The previous owner of the car had a lot of little lights and stuff that was wired pretty poorly so I'm thinking it may have been a short some where. Any chance you know the fuse number for the gauges just to make sure I check the right one?
I would also check your tail lights. I cant remember on our cars but alot of cars have the wiring for the dash lights and the tail lights running through radio wiring because of the dimmer function. Brake lights would still work but the tail lights might not be. Just a heads up

So I checked the fuse for the gauges and it is fine its not blown, the dial works because I can see the temperature controls changing brightness. Is it possible that I have a burnt out bulb that needs to be replaced?

I doubt all of them blew out. Check the harnesses that connect to it. Do none of your lights work? Such as the turn signal, the ses lights or srs light? If none of those work but the gauges do I would check the harness. If that's not it then im sorry im out of ideas. You can remove the cluster. Its easy. Its 2 screws up top to remove the plastic piece then after you remove that its 3 more screws on the cluster itself. There are 2 harnesses connected. Make sure they are both in.

Gauges and windows are not working
Would anybody happen to know why my gauges and windows don’t work, i replaced the alternator because i had an oil leak so it happened to leak onto it and damaged it. I checked fuses and they all seem to have power what can i try next?
