RRM Header.. ??

My dad will be installing my RRM headers and when putting the RRM Header on, how much tourqe do you put it at when putting on the bolts on a tourqe gun or impact wrench? I think that's what it is called. Sorry never used one before. My dad wanted me to see if I could find out.

And did anyone just put the bolts on by hand tightening the bolts? If so does it leak or any problems?

Any suggestions on the best way to do this?

Sorry if this was discussed before but when I search, all I find is the threads about the far left bolt being hard to get at. Whihci s good so now we are pre warned when we go to take the stock header off.

just tighten them, i installed mine myself without one just make them pretty tight and if you hear your NEW gasket start to crack stop it won't crack it will make a crackle kind of noise, no big deal just means that its sealed

yea, i dont think a specific torque is necessary when connecting the bottom of the header to the midsection, but it is possible you want to torque to spec when connecting to the head

edit: do yourself a favor and get a new gasket, you can pick it up at mitsu, or just ask around for a normal 2 1/2" exhaust gasket

Alright I'll go by Mitsubishi tomorrow if I get a chance. Should be around $20 maybe? Hopefully in stock I wanna get this baby in as soon as I get it.

Any universal 2 1/2" exhaust gasket will work? Discount Auto is right down the road...

Haha, thanks Boe. Is it alright just to hand tighten the ones to the downpipe?

Oh ya and about these gaskets is there 2? Like one between the header and the engine and one between the header and the downpipe or only one in one of those places?

Tomorrow I will probably going to go to Mitsubshi to see if I can get a new one.
