I recently bought a Injen SRI for my 2010 Lancer, and the check engine light is coming on. i tried restarting the battery terminal but it still comes up. i was also told i am melting my fuel ingectors by doing this?

 

Do you know the code? You can go to any auto store and they can read the code for you. It might be your MAF.
Who told you that an SRI could melt your injectors??? That is the most absurd thing I have ever heard.

injen SRI should not throw a CEL, you probably have something installed in correctly, i would remove everything and re-tighten all clamps, also make sure your MAF is seated properly.

 

While I have an RRM instead of injen, I've had a similar issue. During my install I accidentally pinched the o-ring to my MAF which caused just enough excess airflow to cause a CEL. That'd be the first thing I check.
