hey guys so i just bought a 2010 lancer last night, i upgraded from my 2008 lancer with a lot of miles on it.

anyways i have the keyless entry with no key just a fob for entry and i wanted to hear what the sound was like outside of my car so i shut the door and it apparently was locked because i used the unlock button on the door.

so i was locked out for about 45 minutes until AAA came and basically broke into my car and rolled the window down.

my question is WHY does my spare not unlock / work when my car is running? it works when its not running... my car basically locked me out...

 

is there a way to reprogram the fob so that i can use it if i get locked out again?

 

Use the metal key inside the fob to unlock it next time

 

well done, i had no idea there was a key i bought my car from a non-mitu dealer so they did not explain that to me.
