Electronic problems

Hello! I didn't want to start three threads about this, and I wanted an idea if anybody could help.

Over the time of this car (2008 Lancer GTS) there's been a few problems with electrical.

First, the car was randomly locking itself, and then the lock button on the driver's side stopped working (the lock/unlock button can unlock all the doors but cannot lock). I've taken off the door panel and found that the switch seems to be working right but can't get anything more. I'm thinking these two may be linked, possibly as a short somewhere, but I wanted an opinion.

More recently the FOB stopped working completely. Took it to a dealership to get it reprogrammed and was told that it was programmed, or else it wouldn't start the car, but there was some other problem and that's why it won't work. Any thoughts to what that could be?

And most recently... the stereo control buttons on the steering wheel do not work when the wheel is straight. When turned at least past (roughly) 25 degrees either direction it works, just not when straight. This includes the Mode, Volume and up and down buttons. The cruise control buttons on the other side work consistently though, when straight or turned. Any thoughts here?

For the locking issue and your fob, sounds like a problem with the KOS module, but I would get that properly diagnosed.

As for the steering wheel buttons, sounds like your clock spring is worn out. The audio control is on two different pins on the clock spring than the Cruise...
