clicking noise

well when i turn on my car i have this clicking noise. its kinda like click click click click. the weird thing is that when i put my foot on the pedal, it goes away. im not even revving the car just puttin a lil pressure on the pedal. the noise seems like its coming from the dash maybe right behind the gauges. any info would be nice thanks.

Are you sure it is coming from the dash and not the engine itself?

Is the car and the outside temp. cold when this happens?? Because mine does that too for a bit (especially when it was -30 C a few weeks ago), mine went away once the engine oil warmed up and circulated. It's probably nothing serious.

it's the lifter not getting enough oil. it won't cause any problems.

to get rid of it, this is what mitsubishi recommends: rev the engine from idle to 3000 rpm in 30 seconds, and go from 3000 rpm to idle in another 30 seconds. Do this 10 times. This will get the flow of oil to the lifters..good luck.

My clutch pedal has a really cool rattle/click... I greased the joint under the dash and it went away.
