Fixing 2003 Lancer LS Nightmare
How long has this been happening? For a while? I'm thinking when your timing belt failed you caused some internal engine damage. Bent valves, dented pistons... People rarely get out of a failed belt with just having only to replace the belt. Also a compression test and leak down will probably say a lot about this. Either that or timing sounds off.

As to the timing belt replacement, it has been about 3 years now. Can't really recall when the problems where taking place, but I think I can say at least a year or from summer when the A/C would shut my car off when idleling or at a stop. The other issue just started a couple of days ago after I cleaned the throttle body, now as long as I don't give it too much gas right away it runs fine but if I try to speed up right away its like it chokes the car and I lose total power. I have to take my foot off the gas in order to regain speed. About killed me earlier today when someone cut me off and the lane was merging, I tried speeding up and forgot I couldnt do that.
Well it's not a random misfire according to the ecu. If that's the only code you're throwing something is going on up there. Check your spark plugs. Go to your parts store and get a compression tester. Should be $40 max.
I was thinking your ac compressor was out but you said that was fixed. Does the ac work at all? Any problems with it on?

Plugs are new, just got new ones just to rule that out 2 days ago. I haven't done a compression test yet so I will make sure that I do that as soon as I get out of work. Thanks for the lead, as to your last question I am not sure what you are referring to when you say does the account work at all or do I have any problems with it on. Are you referring to the A/C?
I haven't check my injecotrs yet, will have to do that in the weekend incase I make things worst
. My fuel pump is only a year old, a back yard mechanic told me that was the problem for sure when I first starting having issues and of course that wasn't it. By the time I find the issue I will have practacly a new engine since Iv'e been replacing many things.
I've seen brand new fuel pumps that we're bad right out of the package
.... But checking your injectors would be good to do regardless....They need to be flow checked. Also the plugs and wires that connect to the injectors could use a quick lookover to make sure none of them are broken and the contacts aren't corroded. Just hope your timing belt didn't jump a tooth. that can be a silent killer to motors if not caught right away.

Well like everyone else says you need to do a compression test first and foremost. Then report back the numbers per each cylinder and pay special attention to that #2 cylinder. You said you've basically replaced all the igntion components. You could swap injectors around to see if the misfire follows the suspected bad injector. You could check your crank/cam sensors for any visible damage (frayed wires, physical damage). You could very possibly have a dead cylinder which is what it sounds like to me and a simple compression test will tell you that.

I appreciate the help,

I will for sure report back the numbers I get this Weekend, wish I could work on it now but work is calling. Thank you for the lead,
Just want to say thank you to everyone that has taken time to help me, I will do all the recommended checks this weekend and I will report back what happend. I am praying to God it's not my cylinder, any idea how much that would cost?
My wife's 03 es was doing the exact same thing. Had a tune up, hanged multiple parts and to no avail. Finally i took it to a mechanic buddy of mine and boom, the misfire was because the spark plug boot( plastic/rubber thing that goes into cylinder to spark plug) had a huge hole in it. 18 dollars later and 5 minutes of work and it hasn't misfired since. Idk if this will help but its what fixed our problem.
