Low Idle Question
Low Idle Question
I know that there have been other threads about this topic, I am wondering if anyone has found anything out? I took my lancer in to the dealer and they blamed my intake for the low idle but I have had the intake for 9 months and the low idle just began a month ago, any ideas or sugestions would be a big help. My car idles at 500 rpm once it is warmed up. (I am not getting a CEL)
I think mine usually idles around 600-700, but the car's computer is designed to set the idle just above stall, which it determines by itself. If you reset the ecu and start it up again, you will see the revs go really high, then fall until the engine starts to shake (about to stall) and then go to about a hundred above that.
As for your idle, if the engine isn't straining or almost stalling at 500, it's ok. But now that your CEL came on, something must be wrong somewhere.

Well I found out that it is my AIC motor that went bad so the dealer had to order me a new one it should be fixed by tomorrow, they told me they have had a problem with the AIC motors in the 03 lancers.
