AM radio N/W

So one day, deciding to check the traffic. I switch to the AM band, and nothing! No static or anything. Scan all frequencies and still nothing. I switch back to FM and reception is good (wouldn't say good, its always been hit and miss with these decks)

I looked up the schematic and its only one antenna as far as I can see. SO Chances are my deck is pooched.

I really am not gonna replace it for just the AM radio crapping out.

Just curious if anyone else has had this?

Are you using a stock antenna or a shorty?

^no. That is an FM-only antenna.

The short wave antenna is a metal bar wrapped in wire (coiled) inside the radio itself.

If shortwave is important to you - buy another radio.

I have had back luck with radio reception. My fix was to replace the deck with something that had better sensitivity. I also tried a powered antenna and that helped a little.
