I have a 2009 ES with a CVT. When I'm driving and come to a stop (stoplight, stop sign, whatever) it will randomly idle, which means not every single time I stop. When it idles, the RPMs will go under 500 and the needle will bounce up and down, the car will shake and get very quiet as if it is going to die. I used to flip it over to neutral and then right before accelerating again I'd pop it into drive and take off, but that resulted in my fan belt falling off. -_- Anyway, now I learned that if I'm stopped and the RPMs drop, I can hold one fool on the brake, and the other to slowly rev the RPMs up to about 1000 and let go, it will be fine, as well as accelerate slowly and gently once the light changes. Some of my friends are saying to change the fuel filter, and since it's cheap and couldn't hurt, I'd like to try that first. Of course, any help would be greatly appreciated as well as any instructions on how to change a fuel filter (Google is not helping), or instructions on any other ideas anyone may have.
