Center display stays on.

Center display stays on.
So I've owned my 2011 lancer es since I bought new. I'm pretty sure when I go to lock the car, all the interior lights turn off.
I went got a car wash and came home. After I turned the car off I noticed the center little... Orange lit display panel between the tach and speedo still lit up. Powered the car on and off. Played with the settings. Locked it unlocked it, waited 30 minutes and checked again. Disconnected the battery (everything turned off then) but the center display panel continues to stay lit. Though it does dim slightly when it's locked with the key fob.
Right now I have the positive battery terminal disconnected.
I am assuming this is not normal right? Is there a solution if it's not?
