MMCS CAN communication issue

Hi all,

This is my first thread & although I've browsed the evolutionm forums for a long time I finally registered.

I have a 2008 lancer GTS that I purchased back in 2012 with 48k miles so I'm not familiar with the history of the vehicle. It has the mmcs and Rockford Fosgate system, sunroof & keyless.

Basically my problem is that on the mmcs settings menu the equipment menu is always blacked out and I can't ever access it to change any options.

Using the service menu (set+navi) I can see the CAN communication confirmation shows absolutely nothing, and I looked at the 45A manual on the mmcs which says it should display things such as hvac, satr, hcm etc. But there is nothing there. Things like the fuel economy graphs and environmental graphs don't even work. Maintenance never shows mileage either. The service menu doesn't even show VIN.

I haven't went behind the navi yet but I'm not sure if this is simply a disconnected wire and don't wanna go behind the navi without probable certainty.

Thanks

An interesting issue for sure. I am not familiar with the MMCS. But, I am possibly guessing the navi may have been replaced at some point and not properly programmed to recognize the other ECU's. Worth a shot to take it in and get it programmed properly.
