so i noticed it a few weeks ago but when i press the exterior button for my trunk release, it has ceased to function. I tried it from the fast key and it worked until about a week ago. I can still pull the handle inside and open the trunk.

I wanted to see the process of steps i should take for troubleshooting the problem. I believe I should start with the fuses but i dont know if there is somewhere else i should check first. Battery is in good condition and fast key has a new battery.

 

might be the fast key ECU. Same thing happened with me but with the doors. Only the FOB would open the doors, not the handle sensor. They tried reprogramming the FOBS and ECU, but ended up replacing the ECU.
