Help! Base model clutch troubles

Hey guys,

I posted in tranmissiom but I didn't get a lot of eyes on my problem. I have a base model down for the count right now after a clutch replacement and slave cyly/throw out replacement. I've thoroughly gone over the lines and bled it a ton of different ways. I'm totally at a loss and the weird concentric cylinder doesn't help. I've read about it but I don't know if it's my problem despite it being new. Any bump and suggestion is really appreciated.

I read your other post. When you say the line keeps blowing off the slave when you get good pressure. I would think that that is your problem. Here is two pages out of the manual for that.

Also, you can try (I don't think proper bleeding is your problem) making a reverse bleeder from a washer fluid pump. Hook up the washer fluid to a switch on a 12v battery, pump the fluid from the bottom up (have someone siphoning the fluid as it gets too full in the master resevoir)

Thanks for the reply! I have actually done something to that extent by getting a huge syringe and pushing fresh fluid into the slave and bleeding it that way. No luck. The other problem is that the pressure that builds isn't necessarily good pressure. The clutch feels wrong even for a little pressure. I think that either the slave is bad (which is new) or the line is bad.

I might be bringing it to a tranny shop and accepting a bill for over a thousand just to get this system working.

Are you sure you didn't crimp the line on install?

Hi Veronica,

I did take the whole system apart once and carefully looked it down to make sure nothing was damaged or bent. What's frustrating is that this a very simple system and it's not telling me that anything is bad. I just don't know where to look anymore.

I've been driving around a '02 Daewoo pretending its my car
