Fob Key - 09 Lancer GTS

Fob Key - 09 Lancer GTS
Greetings, Can anyone confirm whether or not the 09 Lancer GTS once started, will the car be able to continuously drive without the fob/key in the car? I'm hearing mixed information about this issue so I'd like to hear if anyone might know this answer for sure.
What I've heard so far is:
1. The car will not drive and operate once it is out of range of the fob sensor and that function acts as a security/safety feature.
2. The car will operate for approx 30 minutes until a "key location" prompt will display on the dash then after approx 60 minutes of driving without the fob/key sensor the next time the car is shifted into PARK the car will stop running.
