Ok so I recently bought a 2008 lancer es. Now the problem I'm having is that when I start the car it hesitates to start takes about 6 to 8 seconds to start. It sounds like it's dying. I took it to a shop and they said it was the battery since the one installed was smaller than the one it needs. I replaced it but it still does the same. Now theyre suggestion different options but it sounds like they aren't sure. Wondering if anyone had any suggestions. Key is after market I don't know if that matters or not.

 

Try waiting 5 seconds after you turn the key 'on' and then engage the starter (turns on the fuel pump and builds pressure).
