anyone have no problems with kamikaze header?

it seems like so many people are having problems with the kamikaze header. I was just wondering if anyone has it that has not had any problems like a rattling noise or the bolts not fitting? oh ye does anyone know a number to get a hold of kamikaze?

From what i've heard the bolts don't fit. The wholes need to be drilled open a little which isn't that bad if you know what you are doing. As for rattling i have no idea. Do a search, there are a few threads on this topic i think.

There is a little rattle when you start the car and when you drive in reverse. Other than that nothing to annoying. The kamikaze header is worth buying.

It sounds like the header wasn't even designed for the US Lancer, kind of a half a** part

I had my kamikaze header installed not too long ago and the holes did fit ok, the only problem we had was getting off and on the bolt on the far left bottom side, but that's Mitsubishi's fault.

Regarding the noises, I don't think that the gasket supplied with the header collector is the best out there, the material is very soft.

My installer broke the gasket during the installation so I had to get a new one, and I bought a higher quality gasket made out of some hard rubber compound.

I do have a rattling noise on the muffler, and it wasn't there before the header was installed, so....

Bottomline: If you want more horsepower and a louder exhaust, then the Kamikaze header is for you, if you want a quite ride, the leave the exhaust alone!!

No one else makes a header yet except phantom/rpw (Australia). Haven't heard of anyone buying that one yet...
If you guys get tired of hearing that knocking/vibration noise, mark the contact area, take off the header, heat it up and take a hammer to the spot to flatten it out...

i heard (word of mouth, mind you, i don't even have aftermarket headers yet) that kamikaze is crap generally speaking. that they crack a lot and just aren't made well. this guy i was talking to the other day told me to get "DC" headers for the lancer. i'd never heard of 'em. he also said rod millen either makes custom headers, or can find us someone who can. this second option seems (to me ) to be the most credible; i'm sure i'm not the only one who's seen RMR's suped up US Lancer, I'm sure they have the means to make this possible.

Never heard of DC...wow. They're like one of the "de facto" parts companies for the Honda/Acura crowd. Regardless, they make good stuff. However, they're H/A only. Already emailed them. Greddy seems like they might be open to making one if they're making an exhaust. I emailed Borla and Edelbrock about getting a new exhaust manifold but no reply. There are other companies like Neuspeed and Stillen buuuuut...they to weren't all to thrilled with the prospect of making a new one.

im gettin dc asap!!!!!!
well that is.... when they make one!!!!
Its is the good stuff, but like pjal said- it's only for hondas and acuras I just can't stop thinking about how much of my time was consumed by gettin the kamikazi header to fit!!!!
I felt like a Hebrew slave working in the mud pits of egypt.

From what the guy selling them said.... The kamikaze header did not fit exactly then they remanufactured it to make it fit perefect ..... I ordered them and i have been waiting 2 weeks when the guy said 5 days at the most....
so hopefully the install is easy and the ordering is the problem now. My advice DON'T BUY THEM.

Someone try Phantom....their header is $421 shipped....PM me if you want more info...I don't think Kamakaze is garbage, just made quickly and not percisely. If you don't mind doing a little modification work (like a Hebrew slave) they work fine, but We really do need a direct bolt on, no mod needed header.
