Parasitic Battery Drain from Ignition Circuit
Parasitic Battery Drain from Ignition Circuit
Hey Everyone!!
Ive had an issue with my 2003 ES Lancer from last year. If i let the car sit for a couple weeks, the battery drops to the point where im not able to start it without a boost. When i checked he voltage when it wouldn't start, it was around 9V. I have replaced the battery already....twice. I started checking for a parasitic draw on saturday and found when i had my meter hooked up, i was pulling about 181 MA after about an hour of the car sitting.
I started pulling fuses and noticed as soon as i pulled the 40 amp ignition switch fuse, it dropped to 11.5 MA as a draw. My question is, i am trying to figure out what would be on that circuit, that would be causing a draw. Are these cars known for bad ignition switches??
Thanks in advance !
