Just got an 06 Lancer OZ Rally and am going through all the repairs needed. It had a gas smell and upon inspection it turned out that the tank was rusted, new one on the way. While pulling the pump, sensors and valves out of the old tank I found that the "fuel tank leveling valve" was cracked all the way around and needs replaced. Can this be had at a local parts store or is it dealer only? If so does anyone have a part number? Here is a picture, although its an evo tank, with the valve in question highlighted. Thanks for any help.
Thanks for the link. It shows mn120160 as the part but I can't find any physical pictures of the part, only drawings. I went ahead and ordered it. Amazing that a little bit of plastic and 0-ring and 2 springs is $65 but its worth it to get this fixed right. Gas leaks are nothing to mess with.
Just a follow up to this. I got the part we were discussing and also needed a "safety valve." Got the last part Saturday and installed the tank. Put 5 gal in it and with some cranking it fired up, though it seemed to crank slow. I assumed it was a low battery till the squeeling started and the smoke started rolling from under the hood. Turns out while it was sitting the alternator froze solid. Got the parts ordered and should be up and running in a week.
