I have a 08 Lancer GTS and it doesn't start the fast key will not turn in the ignition and when you use the key in the fob the car still wont start the starter turns but doesn't engage, the starter is good the fuses and relays are good, the ignition switch was also replaced along with a new battery. I have heard and read many things like a short in the harness, the ignition switch moves and wont turn on the car, or its my neutral safety switch or I could also be locked out of the car because of a security system. I'm dying to get my car back and garages cant take it for weeks to months and Mitsubishi charges an arm and a leg.

 

Make sure you put the fob attached to the Key when in the ignition. It's a fail safe incase someone stole your key. If the fob isn't close to the ignition, it will not start.
