The same thing happines on my '03. I am told this is due to them being pretty warn (they are at about 30% pad). Although this does not make sense to me the mechanic at my dealership assures me that they are fine and that I have about 10,000 km left on the pads. Mine do it mostly when I turn or when I lightly tap the pedal, and they only squeak for about 40-50% of 1 complete rotation of the wheel - suggesting to me that the rotor may not be entirely true, or even another component of the front end (even tho this explanation would not apply to a consistent squeal)...Another thought is that they may rub when the pads are new, you just don't hear it - only when they begin to glaze a bit..

check your brake pads. they have a built in thing that makes that squeaking sound on purpose when they're worn down and need to be changed, this is a safety feature and tells you need to get them changed out asap...

This happined to me on another car which had no squeaking feature - they just wore completely out one day - and left me with almost zero brakes and destroyed the rotors and calipers...the only reason I don't get mine done is that the mechanic says to wait...maybe they just want to see me order new OEM rotors or something???

Just like after my last service a "mysterious" NAIL appeared in the sidewall of my tire - where the dealership (Barrie Mitsubishi) suggested I "invest" in 4 NEW tires totalling over $710.00!!
