no no it came brand new, and now that i saw a pic of a evo engine, the evo doesnt have the yellow cup like mine does, i would have to cut the bar about half way through to make it fit around the cup.......
im sooo stumped.....
its not like its hindering any performance just now when my rpm gets into the 4-5k range my whole frame shakes cuz its rubing up against the motor.....

well i cut it a bit, the bar is about 2.5-2.7 inches wide and i cut about .7 of an inch, its still rubing a small bit but i can take care of that, now is this gonna make it break???, its pretty thick.....

i don't think its a scam, its just that the bar doesn't fit the oz. the gold thing its hitting has something to do with cruise control. on the es and ls it would have been fine. go with dc sports, they make a nicely engineered one for a good price.
yeah, unfortunately I was one of the people like you that bought the ebay strut bar. I had the same problem with it rubbing against the top of the engine block/ intake manifold. Not sure if cutting it or notching it will help much. I thought of doing the same thing, but one of my friends pointed out that when I rev the engine, the engine moves up and pushes into the bar and flexes the bar. Once I saw that I just took it off. I know it sucks but the bar is basically crap and people like you and me got ripped off.
The bar is no good if its able to flex, its not rigid enough to provide proper support. I say suck up the $30 loss and start saving for a RRM K-bar or strut bar. I know its not the solution you wanted to hear but its the only one I got.

I'd really stop using that immediately. Don't care if it's not what you want to hear because that little gold "cup" costs over $200 to replace and it is your cruise control... um controller (servo?) There are also other misc bits onthe intake mani that get rubbed on by these bars, and if they break you're up chocolate creek without a popsicle stick.
PM me, I'll give you a good deal on a bar that works and fits properly.

no no, its not touching anything else, just that gold cup, atleast its not touching that either now, im glad my friend has a metal grinding wheel and he just made a circular, so now it has about a 5-8mm space around it and doesnt touch at all, and i tested the car out, doing u-turns really hard and it works great!!! thx so much for the help!
man i bought that damn strut bar too.. i don't hear anything hitting.. except in reverse and it's annoying.. but you're telling me something might break? cruise control? I'm going to take it off ASAP if something's gonna break.... but ilove taking these corners quick! i think i'll just save up for Road Race's k bar.....
ok... i've circled the gold cup u guys are talking about.. but it doesn't look like mine would hit that even reving up.... but i also circled that little module... does it maybe hit that? hits something though cause in reverse it's like a grinding sound....
well nevermind.. i went to the garage and fixed it... there's two nuts at the end of my strut bar where you can twist it... i twisted it as far backwards as i could... no more rubbing... i don't hear that sound anymore... maybe this may help people who have bought this bar.
