yellow valve cover
Nah,
I brought my car in fully stock form.
But you should be able to bring the car with the painted valve cover to see if that solves the mysteries involving the installation of the cover and the side effects!
Bring it to
before is too late man!

Unless the pistons are in, I don't think the dealer is going to give a crap. Let them fix the motor, bring it back to spec, then have somebody split the block and toss those pistons in. I'd be worried about the rods to, but that's just me. Why are the pistons an issue when you don't have them yet anyway and hopefully you'll have the engine fixed before then? Besides, if warranty isn't going to cover it anyway, you're gonna pay up the butt regardless.

but yea i'd first start off by thinking up a story to tell the dealer. the work "aftermarket" dealers frown upon. then i'd read through your warranty information to see what covers you and what doesn't and that will help to improve your story.
but yea put the stock valve cover back on. make everything that has to do with the valve cover back to stock. uhm intake headers stuff like that can be kept on. it might void your warranty. or the part with the intake but it shouldn't mess with your internals and stuff.
you're warranty should cover you. as long as they don't find like some tools you accidentally left in tehre or something. that would automatically void it.
a friend of mine had a similar incident. not as bad as yours. he didn't have problems with shavings. but same thing valve cover. but he found out what his problem was. when he painted his valve cover he decided to clean his engine bay and went happy go lucky with the spray 9 and that got mixed into the oil and that was his problem.
o yea if the dealer doesn't cover it, you might wanna start looking for parts both aftermarket and oem. i know of semi-local shops that could rebuild your engine or maybe even do a swap for you. i'll be glad to help u find parts and stuff like that. i know where the auto recylcers are here in the area and have some discounts @ mitsu dealers both online and local too
thanks... if i need some help im sure to ask u first.. taking it to the dealer tomorrow... wish me luck that they wont be a jackass about everything... i really miss driving my car... i havent heard the sound of my car with the intake in so long...
