Accolade 4-1 Header, Downpipe & Hi-Flow Cat

http://www.accoladesportparts.com/de...uct_id=02LANG2

Quite simply one of the best header systems on the market..

Racing Performance Works Race Header Systems are designed as the complete "Direct Bolt on Package" meaning no further components or parts are required. You purchase this product and simply bolt onto your vehicle, no welding or modifying is required.

An extractor is not an ordinary piece of exhaust piping. It has to be designed based on engineering formula and produced with accuracy and details to function effectively. The design of an extractor plays an important role in determining the engine's efficiency. Not all extractors are the same in terms of design as well as functional effectiveness. A badly designed extractor can actually reduce the power output and torque, making the car lacking in acceleration and throttle response as well as increasing fuel consumption.

To ensure effectiveness, RPW 4-1 extractors are designed based on engineering formula. Each and every pipe is calculated for optimum length and size to produce a siphoning effect. By utilising a 4-1 design, we no longer have the issue of pressure / siphoning effects that stock and traditional 4-2-1 deisgns have.

The package includes the RPW 4-1 Racing Header and Flex Pipe Assembly, High Flow Cat Converters to make this a complete bolt on system, otherwise the system is designed to bolt directly up to the origonal flange point on the stock catalyctic converter.

All O2 Sensor fittings are fitted, where vehicles run multiple O2 Sensor Fittings, all the location points are available. On models where cat converters are supplied, O2 sensor fittings are also mounted after the cat converter to avoid CEL / Check engine Light issues.

Pipes are supplied as mandrel bent mild steel, but optional ceramic coating is available in economy grey or more expensive polished silver. RPW does not use stainless steel due to the continual contraction / expansion process which causes the metal to crack over time.

$659.00

ok, let me ask ya somepin dave. i've been eyeballin this set up for a while. i'll tell ya why. i have the kamikaze header setup currently on my car.honestly didnt feel very much of a difference other than above 4k. and very little at that. also the sticker on the box said this product does not guarentee improved performance. theres also no dyno proof of gains to be found for that product. so... this system is way different, right. so much R and D went into this let us see it. i understand dyno graphs arent everything but are a much better idea than nothing as far as expected gains for 600 some bucks. if this makes real horsepower gains i will buy it. minus the cat. but if not than its the same as every other header for the lancer. just for looks and no real power gains. i've already searched for gains on here and found nothing other than some dude with a ralliart basically knocked off .5 of a sec. quarter mile. witch is pretty dawm good for some headers. sorry to be long winded but help me understand why this product is better than all others. i'm building all motor plus spray for drag and my current headers just aint cuttin it.

furter more, maybe i mis understand. are headers just a support mod. is there really no horsepower to be gain with heeaders on any car and is just a matter of effiency. if so then im best to just stick with what i got. some one set me straight.
oh, and a price without the cat. just in case.

The gains obtained from headers alone will not get you much. It will however change the power curve of the engine, giving you more mid range hp and torque. All mods are better complimented with other supporting mods.

As for RPW's research and development and dyno numbers, run a search. The info is on the site for those that look. Not trying to be a ***** but its out there.

wasn't the o2 sensor hooked up on the upper pipe before? instead of the downpipe/flexpipe?? which prevented cel??

oops sorry wrong car type....

But having said that I do know that the RPW 4-1 race design headers do work very very well... I had one on my other Lancer and the gains were so much better than the previous "performanace header" how much better is hard to say but it helped in getting my car from 86hp atw to 137hp atw and a track time of 15.6... and never in all the 70,000klm + I never got a CEL

ohh yeah the car was only a 4g93 (1.8lt)

Do you guys sell the downpipe seperately and if so, how much is it? Will they bolt on to a rrm header?

Where is the placement of the O2 sensors? Will the 2nd O2 sensor be prior to the hi-flow cat or after it?

You can put it either place. After the cat is the best option. You just have to lengthen the wires a bit.
