ROAD/RACE- Stage 2 Cam.

We dida custom cam for one of our customers. THe ffedback we got from it was very good. Based on what we learned from us we can go one better even. How many guys are interested in a Stge 2 cam? I do not dynos yet but we know from customer dyno Stage 1 was 11+ h.p. This can should be closer to 15. Give me some feedback so I know what to do. Maybe a group buy price thing is the right way to go here.

Are these for specific applications? N/A, Turbo, or still just one general camshaft to fit those two very different applications and needs?

It can be used for any application. I currently have the first stage 2 and testing it. It works great......has a strong pull pritty much no matter where you are on the RPM range. Once mivec kicks in it goes like a bat out of hell. But also i have just about everything for NA set up. If anyone has any questions you can PM me about the cam. Thanks.

Like I said before, at the low boost levels we are all seeing from the RRM kit and custom kits spool up is going to be pretty quick no matter what. the question is that the cam is good for NA and turbo, which is subjective to many more conditions.

If they've started messing with the low and mid range lobes you are gonna affect spool up a little bit. Until Rob decides to come up off some specs we will have to assume from the previous comments that overlap was added with the increased duration and lift on the lower end lobes (loping at idle ).

turbo likes less overlap generally speaking, and while modifying the mivec lobes let's you keep your changes in overlap up in the RPM's, modifying the low and mid range lobes for an NA car will require more overlap while the turbo would spool quicker with less overlap at these lower RPM's.

I'm not sure how this would relate on an engine that has barely seen 12 psi yet, but let's not throw a blanket over it and call it universal without getting actual results or feedback from a cam specialist. the cam is one of the most complex parts of the engine as far as being application specific, so testing is essential before you assume results.

^^ Dan you know Rob isn't coming off of his specs.....he is after all running a business.

I agree...the only person who would be able to call it "universal" would be Rob after they test it out some more and get feedback from both turbo and NA applications. Will probably take some time....as all R&D does (especially with the low number of RA's out there).

meh, no reason to keep them hidden as you can measure them out after buying one if you wanted to steal the profile. I'm sure it's already been done. also, buying a cam from them is more of a convenience at this point because you can get a cam done elsewhere if you took the time. There is enough information available on evom to make an informed decision regarding a cam profile, and spare parts are readily available on car-parts.com merely a convenience for those who don't want to do the legwork themselves.

It is a universal upgrade cam. I did not want to invest in a NA/ or TURBO speicific camshaft. As for lobes , we are still working on MIVEC lobes so spoolup should not change at all. Eclipse2Lancer, you of all guys need this one.
